Water is Life on your fertility journey
The most obvious element for us from the moment we are conceived is WATER.
Water is an element that we have come to know during the 9 months that we each have spent immersed in the amniotic fluid. Our relationship with water is very particular: it evokes the first moments spent in our mother's womb and all that this can mean for each of us.
In adult life, our relationship with water can sometimes be explained through this first experience which translates why our relationship with water can be more or less pleasant, secure, or sometimes painful and distressing because it revives sensations from before birth.
About drinking water
Water naturally exists in abundance in your body.
If you wish to be healthy, you need to care about the quantity and the quality of water that you drink each day!
Our bodies need to consume a healthy amount of water each and every day to function properly because water is needed for almost every process.
When you loose more water than you take in, it can make you feel tired, provoke headaches, affect your mood, focus and overall health.
Here’re some signs that you don't drink enough water:
You only drink when you're very thirsty and your mouth feels dry or sticky - listen closer to your body's needs for water!
You don't pee often (under 5 times a day).
Your pee is dark - it should be clear or pale yellow.
What you can do to create better habits around drinking water:
Make water your go-to drink (absolutely NOTHING -not even tea- can replace water).
Carry a water bottle with you to manage how much you're drinking.
Set a reminder on your phone to have a glass of water every hour.
Also beware that our bodies can confuse thirst for hunger, so first have a drink when you feel hungry during the day.
Start paying attention and listen closely to your body -drink as soon as your body tells you to- it will thank you in the most beautiful ways!
About incorporating more water in your life
Here, I'm talking about water flowing in nature that you can wade, bathe, walk, or swim in. As an alternative, consider to take the time to lie in the bath or have some sounds of the ocean or maybe even buy yourself a little water features so that you can hear water tinkling at home.
The sound of water can help you relax deeply, soothe you and make you feel good.
Being around water reminds us of being in the womb where it was always warm, when there were no demands on us, when we were secure, when all our needs were met, when everything was right in the world.
Even in the winter, take time to walk barefoot in the sand, in your garden or in nature. These things might sound silly, but we're actually designed to respond to nature, to be around nature, to be a part of nature and of course - to enjoy healthy amounts of water!
