Understanding the deep connection between fertility and creativity opens up a world of possibilities for women. As a Wellbeing and Fertility Therapist, I’ve seen firsthand how embracing our creative force can transform the results women experience with their fertility. Today, I'm excited to share insights from my recent participation in 'Women's Wowness Day - Femininity, Fertility, and Vitality'. Let’s explore how these energies are deeply connected and how you can harness them to enhance your wellbeing.

1-The Essence of Creation – Fertility and Creativity

a-Fertility Beyond Conception

Fertility goes beyond just conceiving a baby. It represents the force of creation itself, a vibrant energy within every woman. It's about generating new ideas, nurturing desires, and developing new projects.

It symbolises the ability to bring something new and valuable into the world. Fertility is the innate power within us to cultivate and manifest our dreams. It manifests in many forms, allowing us to create life in different ways, whether it’s a child or a heartfelt dream.

b-The Boundless Force of Creativity

Creativity fuels our imagination, inspiring us to express ourselves uniquely. It's the inspiration, the flow of ideas and the drive to make things happen. It's our unique way of expressing ourselves.

Creativity can be generating something new, solving challenges in new ways, or producing art, music, literature and other unique forms of expression. Creativity flourishes, enriching our lives when we are open to new possibilities.

c-The Link Between Fertility and Creativity

In essence, fertility and creativity are two sides of the same coin, representing the force of creation. Whether it’s imagining and growing a new life or birthing a project, both processes flourish when we are open to receive. Fertility and creativity are all about bringing something new and valuable into the world.

2-Insights from My Experience with Clients

a-The Vital Role of Progesterone

Progesterone comes from the Latin "pro-gestare," which literally means "hormone that supports gestation." It's known to be vital for getting and staying pregnant and its importance goes beyond reproduction.

Progesterone also helps stabilise mood and supports overall feminine wellbeing, creating space for creativity and inspiration.

From my experience with clients, many women are unaware of the importance of progesterone in women's health. By ensuring our progesterone levels are balanced, we can create a supportive environment for both fertility and creativity.

b-Supporting Mental and Emotional Wellbeing

Just as progesterone prepares the womb for new life, it also prepares our minds for new ideas. It connects our physical ability to create life with our mental and emotional capacity to generate and nurture ideas, new concepts, and desires. Progesterone not only supports pregnancy but also fuels our creative force, showing the deep connection between fertility and creativity. By maintaining healthy levels of this hormone, we enhance our overall wellbeing, opening ourselves up to new possibilities and ideas. It’s the bridge that shows the deep connection between our physical health and our creative and fertile energies.

Common signs attributed to low progesterone include spotting, anxiety, hot flashes, headaches, infertility, fibroids and endometriosis.

c-The Role of Desires in Fertility and Creativity: Nurturing Creative Force

In my work, I've had the opportunity to work with many women experiencing unexplained infertility, which means there's no clear reason why they can't get pregnant or maintain the pregnancy. I've noticed that many of these women also faced great creative challenges at the same time.

They were unhappy with their jobs, on leave and unsure of their next steps, had lost sight of their likes and dislikes and stopped all creative activities. When fertility became a challenge, they lost sight of other joys in their lives, focusing on only one thing.

When we go back to the notion that fertility and creativity correspond to the same energy, it starts making more sense. As women, we are made of multiple desires and are meant to move from desire to desire throughout our life—without guilt.

When we don’t, our bodies start to give signals, and if we don’t listen, they begin to scream to get our attention at all costs.

“If you listen to your body when it whispers, you won't have to hear it scream”.

3-Moving Forward – Embracing Desires and Moving Beyond Needs

a-Creation and the Womb

The ability to create life and generate new ideas comes from the womb. The womb is the place of creation, maturation and bringing forth life in our female body. When women lose sight of this superpower and stop the flow of energy in this part of their body, their bodies start to speak, give different signals and finally scream louder and louder. This can manifest as feminine challenges like period issues, polyps, fibroids, PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), endometriosis and all sorts of fertility challenges.

b-The Impact of Ignoring Our Superpower

These feminine challenges many of us go through are all ways your body finds to send a clear message that you need to stop time and start looking at yourself, your life and your desires.

Our desires are a powerful force that drives us towards fulfilment. However, it’s crucial to distinguish between desires and needs. Saying "I desire a baby" brings joy and openness, whereas "I need a baby" invokes fear and stress.

By focusing on our desires, we create a positive and nurturing environment for both our fertility and creativity. As women, we are made to desire many things at once. Embracing multiple desires without guilt allows us to stay connected to our creative energy.

This balance helps us maintain a fulfilling life, where we can pursue various passions and dreams simultaneously, enriching our overall wellbeing.

c-Steps to Unlock Your Fertility and Creativity

Step 1: Think about whether you put yourself first or always put others before you. It's time to make yourself a priority!

Step 2: Look at your relationship with your mother. Our first experience of creation of life was in our mothers' womb. Many women, including myself and those I've worked with, have had some work to do with our relationship with our mothers. This relationship is crucial to examine if we want to challenge and change the dynamic of fertility and creativity.

Step 3: Make space in your life for creativity. Creativity and making babies both come from the same energy.

Making space for creativity in our lives is essential. Engage in activities that inspire you, whether it’s painting, singing, dancing, or gardening. These activities allow your creative energy to flow, supporting your fertility journey. By nurturing your creative side, you make room for new possibilities and create a welcoming space for your baby.

Conclusion

I hope this article has helped you see how fertility and creativity are linked and how important it is to keep these energies flowing in our lives. By understanding this connection, we can unlock new potentials within ourselves. Embrace your desires, nurture your creative energy, and watch as both your fertility and personal fulfilment flourish.

If you can, take note of some practical things you can start doing now to make changes on your journey of fertility and creation. Always remember that you are perfect as you are right now—perfectly imperfect—and worthy of all the happiness and fulfilment that life has to offer.

At the end of the live session, I did a systemic hypnosis session about making more room for creativity in your life. I’ll be releasing it soon on my YouTube channel. Please contact me here if you're interested, and I’ll send you the link as soon as it’s online.
